Saturday Musing :: Fashion Sketching

I love Saturdays!

We love Saturdays because there's no school & work - and we get to sleep late as long as we want to! Though my body clock doesn't permit this weekly luxury since I am always up by 620 am!  *pfft*

Usually I spend my weekends with my family and kids at home but on my spare time, I just love my own free quiet time. Yes, some good old ME time.

Ever since I was a little girl, I had always been interested in fashion - dressing up my Barbie dolls, paper dolls and sketches to create "outfits, styles & even collections" *LOL*.

I immersed myself into reading a lot of magazines to quench my thirst for fashion. And as most girls would have it, I wanted to be a FASHION DESIGNER.

i have tons of amateur fashion sketches / ideas in my notebooks

My mother pretty much sparked my keen interest on fashion. She would tell us the days where she bought any clothes she had wanted and tell us how everyone would remark on her pretty outfits...well, not the kind of INSPIRATION you would typically consider but I guess she did impart on me some extra sensitivity to the world of "dressing up".

But alas, years on, I studied architecture instead and currently holding a job in the construction/engineering industry. I began to be inclined to liking architecture but fashion still holds a sweet spot in my heart.

I came across this really cool website that teaches easy step-by-step on how to create fashion sketches here . Since I do not have a technical fashion designing background *sobs*, I tried sketching.

cool beans! turned out pretty okay; in fact i wished i had her eyes!

I'm kind of excited trying out drawing my family / friends' faces now that I have learnt the basics of sketching faces.

Have a great day ahead!

much love,

rich xxxx
